Searching for Ancestors in the Walled City!

On a recent trip to Ireland and Northern Ireland, I had the opportunity to visit the Walled City of Londonderry or Derry City. I found out that this port city was a major emigration point for those heading to North America as well as other places around the world. This was especially true in the 19th century and for those who were leaving from Ulster. Genealogist and author Brian Mitchell explains in this blog just how important this city was for those leaving for the New World and how the family researcher should consider this port when looking at locations where your ancestors left Ireland.
